A wonderful networking reception and dinner will be held in the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble village on Tuesday 3 June 2025. After dinner an auction of promises will be held to raise the awareness of and funds for PTSD Resolution.
PTSD Resolution is a charity that helps Veterans (any former Armed Forces Personnel), Reservists and families who are struggling to reintegrate into a normal work and family life because of trauma suffered during military service and other adverse life events.
Founded in 2009, the charity is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists to the Quality Network for Veterans Mental health Services. The programme is community-based, with treatment and support provided locally through a nationwide network of 200 therapists, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Local B&B or hotels in Southampton can be arranged but are not included in the price of the event.
The race day starts in Banana Wharf with a delicious breakfast of a bacon bap, freshly squeezed orange juice and tea or coffee.
After a comprehensive safety briefing and risk assessment yachts will proceed down river and out into Southampton Water for familiarisation and crew training prior to the start of the first race.
Up to seven people, under the guidance of a professional skipper, sailing one of a matched fleet of up to 16 MCA coded Beneteau Oceanis 37 yachts.
AVRO Yachting Limited was incorporated on 7 January 2014 but has been running industry sectored charity sailing events since 2010.
The inaugural event, The Emile Berliner Challenge, aimed to find a solution to the problems of maintaining military helicopters deployed on operations. The sailing result was a victory for Cobham but, in addition, two representatives from the OEM, The Boeing Co. and six operatives from the support organization, Vector Aerospace were deployed to an operational theatre.
The Henri Coanda Challenge continues to take over where The Emile Berliner Challenge left off in 2018 in terms of bringing an aviation-centric community, not just helicopter OEMs, together in support of Sail2Help.
Although the names of the regattas may at first glance seem strange there is however some science behind their choice. Emile Berliner was an inventor best known for inventing the gramophone and the flat disc phonograph records that the player used. However, he and his son Henri designed a helicopter which flew successfully in 1919. Henri Coandă was a Romanian inventor, an aerodynamics pioneer and builder of an experimental aircraft, described by Coandă in the mid-1950s as the world's first jet, a controversial claim disputed by some and supported by others.
Although the event is owned, and organised by AVRO Yachting Ltd it is done so with the help of our event partners.
